Banana beach has the distinction of being the longest beach on the island and is popular with locals and tourists alike. The water here is shallow and crystal clear. There are a handful of beach bars offering snacks and refreshments as well as sunbeds and umbrellas available. This beach is a sun – trap and rarely has sea breezes so it can get hot, ideal for those who love sunbathing.
Access to the beach is easy from the town of Zakynthos by free coaches, taxi or by rented and private car and motorbikes. Following the signs on the central road, you will turn left after 11 kilometers (after Argassi and before Porto Roma), and drive on a wide dirt track; after you have crossed a thick pine wood, you will arrive at the beach.
